The HTIH is a regional hub for the incubation and development of health technology businesses in a drive to accelerate new technologies and innovations in this sector.
Funded through the Heart of the South West LEP, the hub acts as a place for the housing and application of advanced manufacturing and testing facilities along with the ability to assist partners from inception to scale. The ultimate aim of the hub is to support learners, drive job growth and support business over the coming years.
Knowledge exchange space and support
The state-of-the-art facilities are being designed for early-stage laboratory-based businesses and include:
- Laboratory spaces (ranging from 15m2 to 115m2 in size)
- Single-user incubation laboratories
- ISO Class 7 Clean room
- Specialist 3D printing facilities for rapid prototyping in a range of materials
- Skills, training & knowledge exchange, including access to Technology Transfer Support with the University of Plymouth’s Research & Innovation Directorate
The advanced facilities at the HTIH, which will be ramped up over the next three years, will provide healthcare and technology businesses with access to integrated health technology, research and innovation, and the ability to design and create complex and innovative products for the health sector.
