Pixalytics is an independent consultancy specialising in Earth observation. Combining cutting edge scientific knowledge with satellite and airborne data to provide answers to questions about our planet’s resources and behaviour. Pixalytics have recently released a new edition of Practical Handbook of Remote Sensing.
The second edition of the Practical Handbook of Remote Sensing by Samantha and Andrew Lavender from Pixalytics Ltd, offers the opportunity for anyone to learn how to find, download, process and visualize a range of free-to-access satellite data. No prior knowledge is required, all the software and data is free to use, and all that is required is a computer and an internet connection.
The second edition remains a ‘how-to’ guide, and is updated with new practical examples using the Copernicus satellite data, a new chapter on atmospheric remote sensing, and bringing in all the latest scientific and technical developments. It enables anyone to find out what is happening in their local environment, or looking at changes on a larger scale.
The first edition was published in 2015 and was awarded an Outstanding Academic Title of 2016 by Choice, a publication of the Association of College & Research Libraries, a division of the American Libraries Association.
This second edition is also published by CRC Press, part of the Taylor & Francis Group. The book can be purchased from their website.
