YMCA Plymouth are inviting local businesses to get involved with supporting and inspiring young people through their My Future programme.

My Future is a youth mentoring programme that helps inspire and empower young people through mentoring with inspiring individuals from a range of businesses and industries who kindly volunteer their time. Plymouth Science Park tenants including Rowe IT, Babcock, and Acronyms are already involved with the programme, offering their support to guide young people through the set mentoring activities.

The programme engages young people from Discovery College and involves a structured programme of mentoring activities across the academic year.

The programme has two cohorts, with a mentor being assigned to each young person. A set structure is followed with resources and training available for all mentors. My Future works in conjunction with the Discovery College careers team to ensure that each young person gets the most from their time with their mentor.

My Future has become the largest mentoring programme in the South West, and they are hoping to get more mentors onboard to ensure every young person involved can benefit from a dedicated mentor.
